We started our business journey as Metroscopes in 1981 by Frank Waterman Jr. In those early years we mainly serviced microscopes in the D.C. metropolitan area. As time went on and the business grew, Frank began to broaden his area of expertise and expanded into other market service segments. By beginning to add autoclaves and centrifuges to our service list, we also broadened the list of potential clients and those whom we could help serve even better.

In 2015, after a few hard years due to economic instability, the business was acquired by a very good friend of Frank – David Admiraal. David brought years of business experience to the company and helped steady the company once again. With his guidance, and following much-increased market demands and needs, Sierra once again broadened the services offered, expertise, and market area.

In 2020, David passed the company along to his Grandson and Granddaughter who currently operate it today.
We now service a wide range of biomedical equipment in the northern Virginia, D.C., Maryland and Baltimore areas.
